South Florida is on the Brink of a Second COVID Wave
October 30, 2020
Local10 recently spoke with Dr. Randy Katz, the chairman of emergency medicine at Memorial Regional Hospital. He said, "I think we are on the cusp of a second surge." With that said, one group of front-line workers reported to the Local10 station fearing that they feel uncertain for their own safety, not knowing if the children they are transporting have COVID-19.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools bus drivers worry that school officials are not letting them know if the students sent home to quarantine were also on their routes. They want to see more testing done, and they want to make sure that when the students get tested, they get tested. To help relieve some of their concerns, officials are sanitizing their entire fleet of school buses each evening. Miami-Dade County Public Schools are committed to the safety and health of their students and employees.
With Halloween weekend just around the corner, the medical community reminds everyone in Miami to follow the safety guidelines.
