Student Wearing A Mask IndoorsWith the school year coming to a close, Miami-Dade public schools introduce a new change in their safety guidelines. According to a report by NBC Miami titled: "Masks Optional Outdoors at Miami-Dade County Public Schools", county students are now free to remove their face masks while outdoors. The new policy doesn't extend to indoor situations and still maintains social distancing as the norm.

Miami-Dade County Public School Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho stated that face masks would likely become optional in the 2021-2022 school year. As it stands, officials plan on revisiting current policies before classes start next fall.
